Don’t we know? “Two third population of leprosy infected persons world over are from India, whom one can see in Holy Places and Metropolitan Cities. All are compelled to pass their lives in inhuman conditions. Perhaps, Human Rights are to care for Terrorists, Dacoits & Unsocial Elements but not for the victims of nature. Any of us can be such a victim.
Samarpan Foundation Trust is a voluntary organization to medically help and serve Leprosy Patients and to take up all round development of their wards who are basically healthy. This trust is continuously progressing since Sep. 2008 under the mutual leadership of Sh. Ravi Prakash Ji and awakened and sensitive strata of society.
While being completely devoted to medically serve leprosy-affected patients who are compelled to live a life that is most hatred and inhuman, and also who remain uncared for, Samarpan Foundation Trust has also creatively and sensitively involved to bring up few hundreds of the little wards of such patients. This process is not only going on but infect, is striding on. As a matter of fact, leprosy is not a genetic disease. Still, our society has always remained highly negative towards this disease. It is the result of this negative thinking that even today a patient who has suffered from this disease is compelled, only to live, away from the society.
Samarpan Foundation Trust is devoted to the appeal that always “remain in search of SATYA & SEWA – (सत्य और सेवा की खोज में संग्लग्न )”. We are also to attract the attention of all our brothers towards a slogan “Take M.D.T., Avoid LEPROSY- (एम.डी.टी खाओ, कुष्ठ मिटाओ )”. In fact, a course of Multi-Drug Therapy (M.D.T.) essentially turns the positive patients into negative but cannot completely treat them. In the result, if any portion of the body that starts becoming senseless during the course of taking M.D.T. and becomes inactive, if that particular portion of the body gets a cut, rapture or a burn, it turns into Ulcer. Samarpan Chikitsa Kendra, which is run by this trust is engaged to give a free treatment, every day, to all such patients by giving them the medicines which improve their immunity, treats them with pain-killers and injections if found necessary. Besides, it also carries out plastering etc., all free of cost.
The Samarpan Chikitsa Kendra is working in Tahirpur (Dilshad Garden-DelhiNCR) for the well being of leprosy patients. It is run by Samarpan Foundation Trust and is working very satisfactorily, getting engaged in all activities as aforesaid. There are about 29 leprosy colonies & other outsiders around this center. Approximately 125 to 150 patients visit the Chikitsa Kendra every day for bandage and medicines etc. All are treated here free of cost. For the purpose of giving treatment to such patients, a most qualified, very senior and retired doctor namely Dr. Dalveer Singh (JALMA HOSPITAL AGRA), who during his service period was a very leading and renowned personality in the field of medical science also treats them. Dr. Dalveer Singh is treating all such patients with a “SEWABHAV – (सेवा भाव)”, and also provides them medicine from the center, free of cost. Entire work of this center is done under the leadership as well as through personal service, involvement, and care of Sh. Ravi Prakash Ji, who is the founding president of the trust.
This organization feels that if the society does not care for or does not treat such patients or does not give proper and sufficient “SANSKAR – (संस्कार) to them, in that case, we shall not be able to call ourselves a civilized society. We shall be no better than the animals, who care only for themselves, though monkeys etc. have a social feeling.
Mission & Vision Statement
The leprosy patients are the parts of our society who are compelled to live most hatred and inhuman life and also remain uncared for. Few brothers of our society get infected with this disease. As on our part, we hate them as also their families and oust them from the society, resultantly they have to live like animals in the slum areas. The government only provides them M.D.T. and cares no further. Because of this hatred, the children of their families, who are quite healthy and can be a very good citizen, go astray and spoil their future by going in wrong hands. Shall not we call one and all, to change our attitude as also above feelings towards such patients (who can be any of us) as well as their families and provide them the care they need? This work has already been started by Samarpan Foundation Trust. All those who think for society and care for it, are appealed to join the trust. All are always welcome.
